Our events are open to everyone but focused to resource and represent distinct Indigenous peoples as they define/ acknowledge themselves.

What do you mean by "Indigenous"?

It is our teams belief that Indigenous is not an identity in itself but a catch-all analytic as defined by the United Nations as Peoples who are inheritors and practitioners of unique cultures and ways of relating to people and the environment. People that have retained social, cultural, economic and political characteristics that are distinct from those of the dominant societies in which they live.

Who comprises the Shopify Indigenous team?

The team is comprised of members of multiple Indigenous Nations including Tsimshian from the Kitsumkalum First Nation, Algonquin-Anishinabeg from Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation, Māori, and Samoa.

How much does it cost?

We are not charging for our events.

Do you provide live support?

Not currently. If you require support, please contact Shopify Support, we are here in more of a consulting role.

Whats the catch?

There is none! OK, maybe one. You have to be passionate and really want to do this. We're here to help you grow, but if your heart isn't in it, you may want to reconsider the timing and revisit again in the future. We know it can be scary, but if this is something you really want to do, let's get past that fear together and get you where you want to be.
